EMDR Therapy
EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based treatment for processing trauma or other distressing life experiences.
Experiencing trauma or ongoing stressful situations can block the brain’s ability to recover from distressing events and, disconnect us from our bodies and the inner wisdom it carries. Rather than talking in detail about these events, EMDR therapy allows the brain and nervous system to resume its natural healing process through alternating eye movements, sounds, or taps.
EMDR helps you get to the root of the issues and process the stuck emotions, thoughts, and body sensations that were created as a response to distressing events. This holistic brain-body healing allows you to find relief after traumatic experiences.
EMDR also trains the brain to manage new events in a more adaptive way, allowing you to reconnect with your inner wisdom and navigate future challenges with a renewed sense of confidence and strength.
My own personal experiences with EMDR therapy, and seeing the positive shifts in my EMDR clients in session, inspires me to share this powerful modality so that others may also find healing.
